Warhorse Studios, maker of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, recently said it's listening to player feedback about the medieval RPG's save system and lockpicking minigame, and may be making some changes to both. In the meantime, as always, modders are on the case. One mod has already appeared to let players save the game whenever they want, and now there's a mod called Sectorial Lockpicking that makes picking locks a bit easier.
In KCD's lockpicking minigame, the lock is represented by a circle, sort of like a wheel. Your pick is represented by a round cursor that you move around inside the wheel to find the sweet spot, which turns your cursor yellow. Then, you turn the wheel, and as it rotates, you need to keep your cursor hovering over that invisible sweet spot. Some players are finding this a bit difficult to manage, especially when using a controller instead of a mouse. Hence the player feedback and Warhorse looking for ways to make the minigame better.
Kingdom Come Lockpick Mod
The lockpicking is a bit more convoluted. In order to pick locks, you need to find a specific part of a circle (which represents the whole lock). Then, once in the appropriate place, you rotate the lock while moving the cursor to keep it positioned at that invisible spot. It can be confusing keeping track of exactly where on the circle the cursor is supposed to stay.
The lockpicking mini game will show you a cross section of a lock and the controls. The goal here is to use your mouse cursor until the circle inside the reticle is golden and as large as can be. That is the spot you should keep the reticle in while you rotate the lock. On PC, you use the D key to rotate and the mouse to hold the reticle in the same place throughout the rotation. It needs to move with the lock. If you veer off too much, the Lockpick will break. Depending on the difficulty of the lock, the mini game is more or less forgiving.
Well, with the Perkaholic mod, this dream can become a reality. Numerous new traits are added to the game to make leveling up even more interesting, with certain combat skills being worked upon extensively too!
Medieval times might've not been the highest point in history when it comes to maintaining personal hygiene, but one has to admit that the speed at which Henry gets dirty while traversing the overworld is still quite ridiculous regardless.
Players who want to enjoy a lockpicking experience that is significantly less annoying should definitely check out the Sectorial Lockpicking mod. It clearly marks the area where the player should keep their pick, making this minigame immensely bearable.
Inventory management in Kingdom Come can prove to be a massive pain due to the haphazard nature of the nomenclature of most items coupled with a lack of options when it comes to filtering these items as well.
Thankfully, with this mod, the problem of inventory management becomes a thing of the past. All items are renamed so they can be grouped together without any major issues, allowing for a streamlined experience when it comes to managing Henry's inventory.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance has just been released on the PC and the first mods for it have surfaced. A few days ago we informed you about its first mod that enabled unlimited saves and today we are bringing you mods that make lockpicking easier, make merchants richer, make arrows faster and more realistic and remove Fog of War.
Sectorial Lockpicking is a mod that makes lockpicking easier without breaking the game mechanics. In SLP the lockpicking wheel has been divided into sectors and players can now see where they need to hold the little yellow circle.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods are now starting to come out, with the game only just released earlier this week. The still somewhat buggy title offers a highly realistic medieval RPG experience without any of the fantasy elements that are so common in the genre. Luckily, Kingdom Come: Deliverance fully supports modding, and a healthy community has already sprung up around the new release, with a wide variety of mods already available for the game. We've collected some of the best of these early bird modifications below.Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods - Unlimited Saving Download From Nexus ModsCreated by: EddieShoe and BiosmanagerIn some areas, Kingdom Come translated abstract game mechanics that don't have a quantifiable measure of realism un odd ways under the pretense of upholding that quality, such as restricting game saves to a particular brew the player can drink. If you run out of this so-called Saviour Schnapps, you can't save. This mod changes that, giving you an option to save your game without restriction from the pause menu. Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods - Easy Lockpicking Download From Nexus ModsCreated by fireundubhActual lockpicking can be pretty tricky, and this is something the game reflects in its quest for realism. Even when you have the requisite stat for your lockpicking skill, actually opening the damned thing can still be a headache. This mod lowers lock difficulty across the board, and also automates the process provided you meet the skill requirement of the given lock. It also tweaks the XP formula of the game, altering the rewards for successfully picking a lock. Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods - Bow Dot Reticle Download From Nexus ModsCreated by FaawksVideo games almost always make aiming with ranged weapons easier by pasting a targeting reticle in the middle of the screen, which sometimes even changes color based on whether your shot will strike true. Kingdom Come: Deliverance makes aiming with your bow so much harder by omitting this particular crutch, once again in the name of - you guessed it - realism. Some might enjoy the challenge, some might not - this mod is made with the latter players in mind. Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods - Unlimited Weight Download From Nexus ModsCreated by HantiseI always thought weight mechanics in RPG inventory systems were stupid. Sure, it's unrealistic that a character can carry unlimited loot, but it's also unrealistic that a character can carry seven sets of armor, fourteen swords and thirty health potions only to become overcumbered by picking up a slice of bread. Alas, Kingdom Come includes such a mechanic nonetheless, and luckily this mod is here to do right away with the bloody thing. Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods - DS4 Controller Buttons Download From Nexus ModsCreated by FaithLVIt's become mostly standard practice for PC games that also get console releases to offer controller support on the PC as well, and to adjust the UI according to the input method used by the player. However, when using a controller, the icons almost always default to the Xbox layout since, granted, that's the kind of controller you're most likely to use with a PC. However, Dualshock 4s can be used on PC as well, and if you happen to prefer Sony's controller, this mod will adjust the UI accordingly.Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods - Skip Intro Videos Download From Nexus ModsCreated by WoulveThis is less of a "best mod" and more of an "essential utility". Kingdom Come is straddled with the loathsome unskippable long intro videos showing off licensed development tools, company logos and some others that take entirely too long. This mod changes things so the game goes straight to the main menu upon startup. Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods - Texture streaming improvements - No more texture pop in Download From Nexus ModsCreated by Artins90One of Kingdom Come's more notorious bugs is that of the bothersome texture pop-in. If you don't suffer from an instance of models not loading at all, resultin in head and handless empty suits of armor walking around, what models do load with have low LOD textures for a while before the proper stuff loads up. This mod seeks to solve that issue by increasing LOD distances and also extending texture retention. Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods - Roads are Dangerous Download From Nexus ModsCreated by MugsIn vanilla Kingdom Come, roads are typically a safe way to travel, and are also used for fast-travel, with a low chance of encountering an ambush. This mod jacks that chance up and adds enemy variety, making ambushes and bandit attacks more frequent both when fast-travelling and when just walking or riding somewhere. Deserting guards, highwaymen disguised as nobles and other surprises await those looking for more combat and challenge. Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods - Perkaholic Download From Nexus ModsCreated by XyloziPerkaholic is a mod that adds a whole lot more perks to the game, allowing you to become more effective with playstyles Kingdom Come previously restricted with a lack of viable builds. Not only have existing perk-trees been expanded, weapons which lacked them previously were given entirely new perk-trees, including Bows, Polearms and unarmed. Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods - A Sorted Inventory Download From Nexus ModsCreated by HaslamYour inventory getting cluttered and hard to navigate? Then this mod is for you - it sorts all items into a simple and easily understood categorization system created by the modder, bunching similar items together and making them easier to find. This lightweight mod won't revolutionize your experience, but it will make things more convenient.Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods - KCD lightsaber models Download From Nexus ModsCreated by Keyser SozeThere are very few things in this world lightsabers don't improve upon, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance is most certainly not one such thing. While some modders may have just colored the blades of swords in your standard lightsaber colors, made them glow and called it a day, this particular mod introduces movie-accurate and lore-accurate lightsaber hilts with proper blades and a wide variety of colors. The weapons on offer include Kylo Ren's, Darth Vader's, Obi-Wan's and Qui-Gon Jin's hilts among many others.Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods - Ultra Low Graphics Mode Download From Nexus ModsCreated by Jindra1403Want to experience the hyperrealistic gameplay of Kingdom Come: Deliverance but your computer is a potato? You prefer higher framerates over flashy visuals? This mod is perfect for you, as it dials down the graphics setting way below the lowest option offered by the vanilla game, allowing you to run the game on machines which don't hit the minimum requirements. Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods - Ultimate Realism Overhaul Download From Nexus ModsCreated by KnoxogoshiA lot of the mods featured above essentially make this game easier. This mod does the opposite, and makes the base game even more difficult as well as realistic. Combat gets a complete overhaul, which of course translates to it bein more challenging, merchants are greedier and the whole game economy is reworked. Additionally, a hunger and food system is implemented adding survival elements to the game. This is one of the biggest and most in-depth mods Kingdom Come: Deliverance has at present. Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods - Henry's Face Compendium Download From Nexus ModsCreated by MissNilinWhile RPGs with fixed protagonists have worked in the past, being able to customize your avatar to some extent is still considered to be mostly an integral element of the genre. In Kingdom Come, you can only play as Henry, and cannot alter his appearance - until now. This mod contains 20 different head models and 7 skin tones for Henry, allowing you some minor measure of customization to potentially assist you in the role-playing aspect of the game. Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods - Henry grows a beard Download From Nexus ModsCreated by FeynnmanA lot less drastic than the above mod, this one simply changes Henry's appearance by giving him a beard. What is it doing on this list? There are several mods out there giving Henry a beard, so clearly you folk like this sort of thing, and this here is the best beard mod. Look at that beard. High-definition, crisp. Beard. I mean, what more do you want, really?Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods - More Random Events Download From Nexus ModsCreated by EramusThe game's 1.4 patch altered the rate at which random events are triggered, making them significantly rarer. If you enjoyed these ambushes and other encounters while traveling around, be it fast or on foot, this mod will ramp up their rate. Since these usually involve combat, the increased frequency of them effectively makes the game more difficult. As such, this mod has two internal difficulty settings, normal and hard, which affect the magnitude of the increase in random event frequency. Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods - Loot Info Download From Nexus ModsCreated by PaulDentonThis mod is very lightweight, unobtrusive, and utterly simple. It displays on the loot/open/rob tooltip whether the given item or object has been already opened once before. It's a minor quality-of-life improvement that very well should have been in the game by default. Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods - HUD On Off Binding Download From Nexus ModsCreated by Alexander SengeThis helpful little utility is great for people who want to further increase the game's immersion, of make perfect screenshots untarnished by the presence of the user interface. Though it requires a bit of tweaking, this mod will allow you to keybind a HUD toggle function, allowing you to disable and enable the entire UI with a single keystroke. Kingdom Come: Deliverance Mods - Greedy Alchemist Download From Nexus ModsCreated by uchiwaobitoKingdom Come: Deliverance uses its goal of achieving maximum realism to justify many of the mechanics which make the game more difficult, but what about those which make it more difficult in opposition of realism? Like how when Henry crafts an entire cauldron-worth of brew, but that amounts to a single small bottle if your skill is too low? Did he just pour the rest out? This mod addresses this by buffing how much brew you get. Some might call this cheating, but it's simply for the sake of realism *wink-wink*. Kingdom Come: Deliverance is likely going to be patched repeatedly in the coming weeks and months, so don't be surprised if some of these mods get whacked and you need to reinstall them after the authors update them, but in the meantime, hopefully these will increase your enjoyment of the game.Related Games: Kingdom Come: DeliveranceAbout Aron GerencserWhen not playing an RPG or anything sci-fi related, Aron spends his time working on his novel. 2ff7e9595c
